Third - some of the pictures from my China trip are on show - in China!

They're part of an exhibition of the photographic work of Vincent Assante Di Cupillo who was the photographer I worked with. They will be shown at the South China Interntional Photography Industrial Park in Shenzhen

I will be chairing another discussion of Liverpool Capital Of Culture for Tenantspin at FACT on November 5th - see Latest News for details of my last show there. I will be in my role as Queen Of Culture.

Twice Remembered – Two Performances by Mandy Romero

“Kou”

“Kou” is a performance which Mandy developed from her performance-research trip to China in the autumn of 2007. It presents her experiences relating to that journey with projected images and text according to the random order of 32 cards. (32 is a special number in Chinese philosophy and “kou” is the Chinese word for “mouth”).

“Kou” exists in a number of forms. This performance is of “Kou- China Story” and will be preceded by another version, using the same 32 random cards, performed by a group of Hope students in a manner deriving from the Fluxus movement of the 1960’s, 70’s and since.

“The Lost Years”

How do your years of undergraduate study at University affect the person you later become? Mandy explores in this performance the three undergraduate years which most affected her, using artefacts from that period, to address the question, Who Am I Now?
The performance will draw also upon contributions from Hope University students, staff and visitors gathered in the week prior to the performance through an interactive installation.
